US Chesed Appeal

The US Chesed Appeal
Transforming Lives
Date : 7 - 9 April

As the cost-of-living crisis persists, US Chesed performs countless acts of kindness – providing critical support to thousands of United Synagogue members and the wider community. This includes sending food parcels and cooked meals to those in real need; helping with Pesach costs; staying in touch with elderly or isolated people; visiting those in hospital and prison, and providing bursaries for children to go on Tribe camps.

To ensure US Chesed can support everyone who needs our help, we’re running a matched-funding campaign this Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Please donate NOW by visiting www.charityextra.com/uschesed/wp or calling 020 8343 6260 – and your donation will be doubled! Any amount, big or small, will bring us closer to our goal of supporting everyone in our community that needs help. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

US Chesed: How can we help you?

US Chesed have re-launched their COVID helpline and it is now become the Chesed Helpline. If your members need practical, emotional or spiritual support, they can telephone 020 8343 5696 and they will be helped directly or signposted to someone who can provide the assistance that is needed.

If your members get in touch because they are struggling to cope financially, you can send them this factsheet below which provides information on the assistance that is available to help them with their gas and electricity bills.

Please do remind people that we can also provide support though our food parcels, which include fresh food, cooked meals, household items as well as regular staples such as tea, coffee, rice, pasta, tinned tuna etc
