Food Lifeline

Food Lifeline, a project of ZSV Trust, was established in 1997 and has become the recognised source for Kosher food provision to members of the Jewish community who are in need, but are unable to access mainstream services, such as food banks, due to cultural restrictions and dietary laws.

Food Lifeline operates across London, with a particular focus on Hackney, Haringey, Barnet; Canvey Island in Essex; Westcliffe in Kent; Salford and Prestwich in Greater Manchester and Gateshead in Tyne and Wear.

Beneficiaries are the disabled, elderly, single mums, families and children, who are struggling financially due to family crisis including unemployment, onset of sudden illness, marital problems or any other dysfunction that may arise in a family setting.

Our main support is through providing food parcels to families during the High Holy Days and Passover. For these two festivals, we provide food for over 1480 families, with an average of 6 dependents.

Throughout the year we provide daily food parcels to 65 families who are faced with a sudden crisis. Additionally we provide medical assistance, clothing grants, emergency funds and therapy for children who have been through trauma.

Food Lifeline is one of a kind with its practical and direct assistance. Our dedicated team of 50 volunteers deliver food directly to our recipients. All volunteers have DBS checks, and are trained in Health & Safety, Confidentiality and other related codes of conduct. Our Organisation is cost effective and relies on volunteers for the majority of its work.

Ohel Sarah

Ohel Sarah is the only organisation in central Israel that provides continuous services to hundreds of people with learning disabilities, from the age of 6 until end of life. We offer education, employment and housing and help our students reach their potential, increase their independence and acquire crucial life skills. Our approach is unique in that we seek to integrate our students into mainstream society, while backing and supporting them throughout their lives.

Ohel Sarah is dedicated to the care and development of over 600 children and adults with learning and physical disabilities in Israel. We offer continuous care every day of the year from the age of 6 until end of life. By providing schools, housing and employment centres – we aim to give our students crucial life skills and increase their confidence and independence. Our goal is to enable each person to integrate into mainstream life, whilst giving them support and love throughout their lives.
