A FRIEND
A good friend is like sunshine in the morning
The comfort in ordinary days
Not the intrusive or demanding
Just there to share your life in quiet ways
Ready with a smile or friendly greeting
A little chat or some sweet surprises
For therein lies the joy of daily living
A good friend when the need arises
KINDNESS
Is anybody happier
For meeting you today?
Considering himself happy
Because he came your way?
Has anyone been helped
Because you lent a hand?
Spared a little time to listen
Tried to understand?
Has anyone been made to feel
His help was somewhere near?
Has someone been relieved
Of worry or fear?
Have you helped someone rediscover
What is good and true?
Seen another side of life
Another point of view?
If the answer is yes
You’ve earned your night’s repose
If no your day was wasted
Spent in vain at its close
There can be no satisfaction
Unless you say
That somebody’s tomorrow
Will be better than today
FRIENDSHIP
Friendship is a priceless gift
That can’t be bought or sold
But its value is far greater
Than a mountain made of gold
For gold is cold and lifeless
It can neither see nor hear
And in the time of trouble
It is powerless to cheer
It has no ears to listen
No heart to understand
It cannot bring you comfort
Or reach out a helping hand
So when you ask Hashem for a gift
Be thankful if he sends
Not diamonds, pearls or riches
But the love of real true friends
