WPS Cheder

01 WP Cheder Flyer.jpg

Woodside Park Cheder is our warm, friendly Jewish school that is open and welcoming to all, whether they are members of Woodside Park Synagogue or not.

At Cheder we learn about Jewish life, values and culture. We are proud of our Jewish identity, and celebrate and love the State of Israel.  We have a fantastic system for Hebrew reading, which is supported by parents encouraging regular practice at home.

Cheder life is not just for the pupils. Our parents are actively engaged with developing and enhancing Cheder life, and so have regular family breakfasts and other events.

Our Vision

By the time our Cheder students leave us, we hope they will be equipped with:

- A strong Jewish identity and pride in their faith

- Sensitivity to how Judaism approaches issues in the modern world

- An understanding and appreciation of the hows and whys of Jewish practice

- A genuine desire to continue their Jewish learning and practice.

Cheder takes place on Sunday mornings, 9.45am-12.30pm, during term dates, for children in years 1-6. We have a separate programme for Bar and Bat Mitzvah for those in Year 7.
